About Preview Profile Picture
A small, free tool with one job: let you see exactly how your profile picture will be cropped on every major platform — before you upload it.
Why this exists
Almost every platform takes a square photo and masks it into a small circle. What looks great on your camera roll can end up off-centre, clipped at the edges, or unreadable once it’s shrunk to the size of a coin next to a comment. Most people only find out after they’ve uploaded — and then have to crop, re-export and try again.
We built Preview Profile Picture so you can skip the guesswork. Upload one photo, frame it once, and see the result inside faithful mock-ups of Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Discord, WhatsApp, X, Facebook and YouTube — at the true sizes each app displays. Then download a correctly sized file for every platform.
Privacy first, by design
Your photo is personal, so it never leaves your device. All the cropping, previewing, readability scoring and exporting happen entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. There is no upload, no account and no server that ever sees your image — something you can verify yourself in your browser’s network tab.
How it stays free
The tool is free and always will be. It’s supported by unobtrusive display ads on the guide and blog pages — never inside the tool itself, and never between you and your result. We don’t sell data, because we never collect your images in the first place.
Accuracy
Every dimension in the tool and across the size guide comes from a single shared configuration, so the numbers stay consistent everywhere. Platforms do change their specifications occasionally; we check them against each platform’s help documentation and update the shared figures when they move. If you spot something that looks out of date, please let us know.
